Confession Time

I have put on about 4lbs since returning from vacation. It started because somehow I did a little damage to my gut over the trip. Then, I kept eating dairy, so by mid December I was a complete mess. I then got really strict on the dairy for a few days, and was back to my healthy gutted self.

Then the holidays arrived. Work had soooooooo many treats I couldn't eat (the families we work with are super kind and generous and clearly trying to fatten us up).  I made my own cookies to take in as it was getting increasingly hard (and a little sad) to watch others eat scones (apparently some of the best on the planet), donuts, cookies, cakes etc.

Then the actual holidays arrived, with the deep freeze. We are setting record breaking cold temperatures left, right and centre. I haven't been getting out as much, although I have worked out at least 2 times per week and gotten my 10 000 steps every weekday. Over the past few weeks I have indulged in many treats besides the few cookies I made. Chips, these amazing macrons that Sam got me for Christmas, a few extra cocktails, plus a wonderful New Years Eve dinner (see below) and the weight popped on.

New Year's Dinner - all made at home - all gluten/soy free - all delicious!
Rather than beat myself up about it (I have no regrets about my choices, other than maybe the too much dairy -when it causes pain and makes me feel sick, I regret it a little) it is just time to clean up my diet. While there were leftovers of that really good feast Sam cooked New Year's Eve, rather than eat it, I had my smoothie and toast.

I am wondering how long it will take me to get back to my target weight?  Stay tuned to find out!
